Todd Gerarden discusses his journey to Harvard Kennedy School in the school’s “Student Stories” article, “Finding Firm Grounding for Research in Environmental Economics.” He cites Program Director Robert Stavins’ book, Economics of the Environment, as the impetus to pursue a Ph.D. in Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School. Gerarden’s research is motivated by the idea that it is possible to grow the economy and protect the environment concurrently. Gerarden collaborated with Pre-Doctoral Fellow Alumnus Richard Sweeney ’15 and Faculty Fellow Joseph Aldy on research of wind energy subsidies from a policy perspective.
