Author Quirin Schiermeier revisits the Kyoto Protocol and the events that sparked its creation; the Kyoto Protocol is a pact to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by developed countries. A discussion paper from the Harvard Project on Climate Agreements was referenced in the article, "Sustainable Cooperation in Global Climate Policy: Specific Formulas and Emission Targets to Build on Copenhagen and Cancun."
