[Richard Newell](/people/richard-newell), a former Pre-Doctoral Fellow of the Harvard Environmental Economics Program, left his position as Administrator of the Energy Information Administration on July 1 to return to his faculty position at Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment. Newell obtained a Ph.D. in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School in 1997. “Richard has been an invaluable resource to me, to the Department, and to the Administration, and we will miss his leadership,” Energy Secretary Steven Chu was quoted in The Hill.
