[Rebecca Henderson](/people/rebecca-henderson), a Faculty Fellow of the Harvard Environmental Economics Program, recently received the highest honor that Harvard University bestows on a faculty member—a University Professorship. Henderson is the former Senator John Heinz Professor of Environmental Management at the Harvard Business School (HBS); she became the John and Natty McArthur University Professor, a chair established in honor of the former dean of HBS and his wife, on September 27, 2011.

Henderson’s work concerns how organizations respond to large-scale technological shifts, most recently in regard to energy and the environment. She teaches “Leadership and Corporate Accountability” and the field study seminar “Building Green Businesses” in the MBA Program. Henderson recently co-edited a book with Richard G. Newell, a former Pre-Doctoral Fellow of the Harvard Environmental Economics Program and Administrator of the U.S. Energy Information Administration, entitled [*Accelerating Energy Innovation: Insights from Multiple Sectors*](http://press.uchicago.edu/ucp/books/book/chicago/A/bo11668985.html). The volume is published by the University of Chicago Press and is based on a conference hosted by the National Bureau of Economic Research.
