 

#  HEEP Pre-Doctoral Fellow Todd Gerarden Featured in HKS News

 [Todd Gerarden](/people/todd-gerarden) discusses his journey to Harvard Kennedy School in the school’s “Student Stories” article, “[Finding Firm Grounding for Research in Environmental Economics](https://www.hks.harvard.edu/news-events/news/students/finding-firm-grounding-for-research-in-environmental-economics).” He cites Program Director Robert Stavins’ book, *Economics of the Environment*, as the impetus to pursue a Ph.D. in Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School. Gerarden’s research is motivated by the idea that it is possible to grow the economy and protect the environment concurrently. Gerarden collaborated with Pre-Doctoral Fellow Alumnus [Richard Sweeney](/people/richard-sweeney) ’15 and Faculty Fellow [Joseph Aldy](/people/joseph-aldy) on research of wind energy subsidies from a policy perspective.
