Pinar Keskin, an environmental and development economist, joined the faculty of Wellesley College in July 2011, after joining Wesleyan University in July 2010. She was a research fellow at the Women and Public Policy Program at the Harvard Kennedy School from 2010 to 2012. Pinar received her Ph.D. in May 2009 from the Department of Economics at Yale University, where she worked under the supervision of Mark Rosenzweig, Chris Udry and Mushfiq Mobarak. Her research focuses primarily on the environmental challenges facing decision makers in developed and developing countries. In particular, she is interested in understanding the economic causes of and responses to groundwater scarcity.
